Project 4: Burundi 🇧🇮
Our partner, Victor Kwizera, has done a phenomenal job building and operating our Renewal community center in the Bujumbura slum called Musama. Renewal is a place where children can come to study, socialize, play games and sports, eat, and learn about Jesus.
Project 3: Burundi 🇧🇮
Historicly, the Batwa have nomadic hunter gatherers. However, over the last century, Burundi’s population density as grown so much that it has been dangerous to life and limb for the Batwa to continue their traditional lifestyle.
Project 2: Burundi 🇧🇮
When I was first introduced to the Batwa village of Gahararo in 2012 by my dear friend and original partner in Burundi, Onesphore Manirakiza, I found a place that was so poor that the life expectancy was under 30 years. People in Burundi typically only live until their mid-50s to begin with, but the infant mortality rate in Gahararo was so high that average life expectancy was in the upper 20s. Children in the village were, quite literally, starving to death.
Project 1: Nepal 🇳🇵
In May of last year, we provided each of 50 families in the Chepang village of Kaule, Nepal, with a female goat. We formed a village goat committee to administer the program and manage the two male goats that we purchased for breeding purposes.
Rina, Bimla, and Nisha Part II
I spent my final two days in Nepal working with and getting to better know Rina, Bimla, and Nisha and their community, known as the Indian Village of Kathmandu. I learned a great deal in those two days.
Rina, Bimla and Nisha and the Indian Village
I never cease to be amazed at how God puts me right where He wants me to be, exactly when He wants me to be there. GCA partners have always appeared to me seemingly out of thin air. It looks as though it happened again today. Let me explain.
Back to Kaule, Nepal
Our partner in Nepal is an organization called the Himalayan Tribal Development Council. It is run by a Lutheran pastor named Raju Bhitrakoti. Raju was my first contact in Nepal and he is the person who introduced me to the Chepong people in the village of Kaule.
Mike’s Tragic Story
As most of you know, I am currently in Nepal evaluating our projects and determining what to do next. Today I flew from Kathmandu to Bharatpur.
Christmas in Mexico
This is NOT my final report regarding GCA’s 2023 Christmas Party for the kids in Mexico. That will come later. In the meantime, I need your help.

Summer Update 2022
Hello All
I hope everyone is having a good summer so far. Thankfully, it hasn’t been too hot yet, at least not here in San Diego.
I have a couple of important bits of information to share with those of you who follow or support our work.
Gahararo, Burundi - April 29th 2022
Hello Friends
After we finished up in Ruganirwa, we made the short walk over to Gahararo. We were met with more singing and dancing, which I always enjoy. The Batwa dances are so expressive and primal, and the way they dance is so unique. I love to watch it.
Ruganirwa, Burundi - April 23rd 2022
Hello Friends
My visit to Burundi has been a whirlwind. It always is when I visit Burundi, but this trip has been especially active. I usually try to build in one rest day for every four workdays. This time around, that just hasn't been possible.
Musama, Burundi - April 15th 2022
Hello Friends,
I am on the road again, visiting Burundi for the first time since last July. I am here to check on our projects, especially our house build in the Batwa village of Ruganirwa, strengthen my relationships with our Burundian partners, and plan for a possible group trip in the fall.
2022 promises to be a big year for Global Care Alliance.
Dear Global Care Alliance friends,
We wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support, continued donations, and prayers. As we start our work this year, we want to look at our accomplishments of 2021, which was a banner year for us. We are excited and looking forward to setting some goals for 2022, which, along with your contributions, will help change the lives of many people around the world.
How to Make a Global Impact in Today's Crisis
You might be at home right now.
Stuck...Bored...
And just completely caught in disbelief about how the world is turning right now.
It's hard to comprehend how in just a few short months, the world has changed most likely forever.
Changes that nobody could have predicted.
Harvest Ministries Update
We have a wonderful partnership with Harvest Ministries Now in the village of Gahararo in Burundi. A special thanks goes out to Donatien who remains our loyal partner in serving the people of the region.
Mission Trips Invite, March 2019
I will be hosting another organizational meeting for my upcoming mission trips to Lebanon (May) and Burundi (June) at 7 pm on Monday, March 11th at my home. I have a group forming for each of the trips, but there is still room for additional missionaries.
